1: introduction

Whether you’re involved in running a sports club, part of a community recreation group or managing a complex recreation and sports facility, this toolkit can help you.

It provides you with a process and some resources to use so that you can better understand the value of your club, group or facility.

This toolkit is a great resource for anyone wanting to prepare a case study. There is an easy step-by-step plan you can follow with some templates and forms you can adapt to your situation.

The purpose of this toolkit is to provide you with the confidence and tools to research and document important aspects of your club or facility. This toolkit is designed to:

  • help you produce records of individuals, clubs and facilities

  • undertake practical research

  • help build a library of success stories and lessons learnt for others to use

  • build evidence for the value of sport and recreation to New Zealand society.

The toolkit explains how to go about producing a number of different types of case studies with tips and tools to help produce them.
